Teachers are more than welcome to take part in the adventure activities. Why not give surfing a go while you're here?

Things you might like to know before the trip.

FOOD
The standard DAC residential provides 3 meals a day –
Breakfast at 9:00, lunch at 13:00 and dinner at 17:30. We also will always take into account any allergies or dietary needs anyone has. The food is good, healthy and wholesome and we do our best to give choices that all students will enjoy. There is also a tuck shop that the students have access to in the evening & there is free tea or coffee for the students after their evening activity.
However it is impossible to please all of the people all of the time let alone teenagers so we would advise people who are very fussy eaters or those who think they will be hungry in the evening to bring food with them for the evening. We do not allow any food that needs to be cooked or energy drinks such as red bull but snacks , fruit , biscuits , treats and things that just need added water like pot noodles are all fine.

To Bring.
It is an outdoor centre. You will be outdoors no matter what the weather so make sure to bring a warm waterproof jacket. Do bring lots of old clothes. You will get dirty; you need at least 2 changes of clothes that you can get dirty – not so dirty that the clothes can not be worn again but dirty enough that you won’t wear them again till you get home. Tracksuits, hoodies / sweatshirts and old t-shirts are much better to bring rather than jeans and designer shirts. Put your name on everything you want to bring home too – it can be hard to tell one black t-shirt from another.

You need a swim suit and a towel for water sports and you need to bring at least 2 pairs of runners / trainers – one pair of which that you can get dirty or wet.
NB you must also bring 3 heavy duty plastic bags with you for wet dirty clothing.

If you have them.
If you have a wetsuit (full length only), booties or wet shoes, waterproofs, hiking shoes etc feel free to bring them but do not get them especially for this trip. You can bring phones, ipods , guitars etc if you wish but it is entirely at your own risk -

Don’t bring.
Anything very expensive and new unless told otherwise. You are here to have a great adventure but you will be outside in water and mud and you will be too busy laughing to remember that you can’t get you designer shoes dirty.
